Mixing Wildlife & Homesteading

Working in wildlife biology on the west coast for the past 20 years, I didn't want to live on a sterile, artificial piece of land when we moved to Ohio.  When we found this house on 17 acres of forest and grass, we saw the potential.
Our first winter we went to work building nest boxes, bird houses and different feeders.  We do not allow hunting on our property even though surrounding neighbors do, we wanted to give wildlife a refuge.
